Traffic isn't the problem — clarity is
It's one of the most common calls I get: "We're getting decent traffic, but almost nobody buys." In nearly every audit, the issue isn't the traffic source — it's what happens in the first five seconds after someone lands on the page.
Here are the five conversion blockers that show up again and again, roughly in order of how often I see them.
1. The value proposition isn't obvious
If a visitor can't tell what you do and who it's for within a glance, they bounce. The headline and subheading need to do that job before anything else on the page.
2. Too many competing calls-to-action
A page with five different buttons fighting for attention converts worse than a page with one clear next step. Decide on the single action you want most, and make everything else secondary.
3. Slow load times on mobile
More than half of most sites' traffic is mobile, and every extra second of load time measurably increases bounce rate. A fast, lightweight page beats a beautiful, bloated one.
4. No visible trust signals
Reviews, client logos, certifications or a simple photo of the real person behind the business — visitors need a reason to believe you before they hand over their email or card details.
5. Forms that ask for too much, too soon
Every extra field on a form is a small reason to leave. Ask for the minimum you need to follow up, and collect the rest later in the relationship.
The takeaway
None of these fixes require a full redesign. Most can be tested and shipped within a week, and together they tend to move conversion rate more than another month of paid traffic would.
